Regular maintenance of your home heating, ventilation, and air conditioning system is critical to ensure its long life and efficient operation. Check the product information on the filters for the manufacturer's suggested frequency of change. The less transparent your filter is, the more pollutants and debris will be captured. If you have pets, look for a filter which indicates it is specific for pet dandruff and hair.

Following these steps will make changing your air filter easy -

  1. Buy a new filter. Check your owner’s manual to identify the right number or size. It should also be printed on the side of your existing air filter.
  2. Turn off the unit or turn off the breaker.
  3. Remove the old filter.
  4. Insert new filter. Simply slide the new filter into place.
  5. Turn system or breaker back on.
