Clayton Celebrates Record Breaking Year of Volunteering and Non-Profit Support in 2025

Company marks a milestone year of philanthropic impact, with over 75% of team members volunteering in their communities

April 7, 2026

MARYVILLE, Tenn., April 7, 2026 – Clayton, a leading national builder of single-family attainable housing, celebrated a record-breaking year of giving and team member volunteering in 2025. More than 75% of Clayton’s 22,000+ team members volunteered approximately 103,000 hours to give back to their communities, surpassing the average corporate volunteer participation rate by 50%, according to a 2025 report from Chief Executives for Corporate Purpose (CECP). In the same year, the company celebrated key milestones across several longstanding national nonprofit partnerships.

Clayton Impact, the company’s enterprise-wide team member volunteer program, empowers team members to use paid volunteer time to give back to causes that are meaningful to them. Team members dedicated their volunteer hours to a wide range of local initiatives, including helping build homes for community members, hosting and organizing canned food drives, teaching skill-based classes to local students and more.

“At Clayton, a core value is to Do Good, and that is exemplified every year through our philanthropic efforts – even more so this past year as we celebrated several milestones,” said Susan Brown, Clayton Director of Philanthropy. “Through our innovative team member volunteer program and network of nonprofit partnerships, these achievements reflect our ongoing commitment to give back in the local communities we serve.”

In 2025, Clayton and its businesses supported more than 200 local and national philanthropic initiatives, empowering thousands of families and hundreds of communities across the country. Through these partnerships, Clayton helped expand access to stable housing, environmental stewardship, and financial education.

Family Promise

Clayton continued its longstanding partnership with Family Promise, the leading national organization addressing family homelessness, to support families at risk of experiencing homelessness. Through A Future Begins at Home, the partnership supports Family Promise’s mission of helping families achieve housing stability by providing grants to local Family Promise Affiliates across the nation and annual home donations.

In 2025, the partnership helped prevent nearly 11,000 families, including over 18,800 children, from experiencing the trauma of homelessness through Affiliate grants and two home donations. These efforts included the milestone donation of Clayton’s 20th home to support Family Promise’s transitional housing program.

Additional partnership milestones include:

  • Catalyzing more than $14 million in additional funding since 2019 to help prevent homelessness for more than 43,000 families, including over 69,000 children

  • Helping more than 80% of families maintain stable housing through A Future Begins at Home

  • Donating a total of 20 homes since the partnership’s inception, with the majority used as transitional housing to provide stability for families exiting shelters and working toward permanent housing, supporting families for years to come

The Arbor Day Foundation

Through its partnership with the Arbor Day Foundation, a global nonprofit inspiring people to plant, nurture, and celebrate trees, Clayton helps build a better tomorrow for people and the planet by planting trees to support restoration projects in forests of great need around the country. The partnership aligns with the Arbor Day Foundation’s focus on creating greater impact through planting efforts that address specific needs in high priority ecosystems, promoting environmental stewardship in forests and communities that need trees most.

In 2025, Clayton and the Arbor Day Foundation marked a milestone of five million trees planted through the partnership. The achievement was commemorated with a ceremonial tree planting at Clayton’s headquarters.

To date, Clayton has supported 36 reforestation projects across 18 states, resulting in the planting of more than 5.5 million trees and the restoration of more than 11,400 acres of forest land. In 2025 alone, Clayton helped plant 1,070,000 trees, restoring more than 3,400 acres of land and representing one tree planted for every one tree used in our building process. As these newly planted trees continue to grow, the ongoing impact of these efforts will contribute to cleaner water, improved air quality, and long-term support for local wildlife habitats and biodiversity.

Operation HOPE®
Clayton and Operation HOPE, a national organization that equips people with financial tools and education to advance economic opportunities, have partnered since 2022 to help individuals overcome common barriers to homeownership, such as low credit scores, lack of down payment, debt and challenges with money management. In 2025, Clayton continued to invest in Operation HOPE’s HOPE Inside® Homeownership Program, which provided more than 5,300 clients with 13,000 homeownership services, including coaching and financial education resources. This same year, 62% of clients increased their credit scores, 73% of clients increased their savings.
