Engaged couple Caidynce and Aidan found their first home with Oakwood Homes after joining their Homebuyers Club, which helped them make a plan to build credit and navigate the home buying process with confidence. With this personalized guidance, they were able to achieve their dream of homeownership at a young age.
After years of moving between apartments and staying with family, engaged couple Caidynce Aluise and Aidan Hardy were ready to put down roots near where they grew up in Denver, CO. Their journey to homeownership wasn't just about finding the right house but about building a future together. And, thanks to Oakwood Homes' Homebuyers Club*, they did just that.
The couple, both in their early 20s, started looking for a home in March 2023, but they weren't financially ready to buy yet. By March 2024, they connected with Oakwood Homes and joined their Homebuyers Club, a free program offered by Oakwood Homes that helps individuals take steps toward homeownership. That's where they met the Homebuyers Club manager Connie Demos.
"They help you look at your finances and just kind of see what you can afford," Caidynce said. Connie's guidance helped Caidynce and Aidan manage their student loans strategically to help build credit.
"I don’t know where we would be without having that advice to help build credit," Caidynce added.
Connie remembers Caidynce and Aidan's dedication to the whole process.
"I absolutely loved how dedicated they were," Connie said. "They followed their action plan to the letter. They are both incredibly smart, and it was awesome to see them be so successful and become such incredible homeowners and members of the Oakwood community."
Connie believes the Homebuyers Club is a powerful tool for anyone considering homeownership.
"Knowledge is power. Helping people understand the importance of improving their credit, maintaining good credit scores and not overextending themselves is important," Connie said.

The couple chose Oakwood Homes' Percheron model, part of the Coach House collection, for its spacious layout and backyard that's perfect for their two dogs, Sadie and Lulu. Plus, it's a great layout for their plans to start a family.
"We really wanted a back lot to have a bigger yard for our dogs," Caidynce said. "But the back models (in the neighborhood) typically all have three flights of stairs. We didn’t want to trek up three flights of stairs (with children)."
Despite a permitting delay due to a hailstorm, construction moved quickly once resolved. They picked their floor plan in June 2024, broke ground in September, and moved in by January 2025.
"It's starting to feel like home," Aidan said. "My favorite part of this house is the backyard."

Now that they've settled in, they are planning a housewarming party for close friends and family once they get patio furniture. They've also started connecting with neighbors, particularly one who they envision raising their kids together with.
"We laugh about our kids growing up and hanging out," Caidynce said.
They’ve also continued their relationship with Connie.
"She's so awesome, (and) she's so sweet," Caidynce said. "And she's invited to our wedding." Congratulations to Caidynce and Aidan! Check out our other homeowner stories to help inspire you on your home buying journey.
