MARYVILLE, Tenn., June 30, 2025 -__ The Manufactured Housing Institute (MHI) presented Clayton Home Building Group, a leading national builder of single-family attainable housing, with the 2025 Volume Manufacturer of the Year and 2025 Leadership in Sustainability awards. MHI is the national trade organization representing all segments of the manufactured housing industry.

The Volume Manufacturer of the Year award recognizes Clayton’s efforts to provide Americans with attainable housing by building 51,429 modern manufactured homes in 2024. Clayton’s commitment to Opening doors to a better life for homeowners includes:



  • Energy-efficient eBuilt® homes, built to the Department of Energy’s Zero Energy Ready Home specifications. eBuilt homes constructed in 2024 are estimated to save homeowners $39.4 million in annual energy costs.

  • A multi-year partnership with Samsung Electronics America, Inc., the nation’s number one home appliance brand, to place Samsung® appliances in most new Clayton® homes.

  • Expansion of Clayton’s national product line, including the debut of Encore, a home collection that offers attainable luxury by blending expert craftsmanship with high-end aesthetics and personalization options.


The Leadership in Sustainability award acknowledges Clayton’s enterprise-wide dedication to Drive change and Do good through environmentally friendly practices, including:



  • Purchasing 78 new electric forklifts in a continued effort to modernize the company’s fleet with environmentally responsible machinery.

  • Installing solar panels at several facilities, including Clayton’s home office, that combined will prevent over 1,300 metric tons of carbon from being emitted into the atmosphere per year.

  • Planting nearly five million trees since 2022 in partnership with the Arbor Day Foundation.


This is the ninth consecutive year Clayton has earned the Institute’s Manufacturer of the Year award and its third Leadership in Sustainability win.


Clayton’s Oakwood Homes of Fletcher, NC, was honored with MHI’s Retail Sales Center of the Year – East award. In 2024, the retailer focused on enhancing the homebuying experience by growing their team, expanding inventory, streamlining processes and renovating their Home Center. A deep commitment to Do good by supporting the local and surrounding communities, which were devastated in the wake of Hurricane Helene, led Fletcher team members to volunteer significant time and resources to the cleanup efforts.
