19th new home donated through national partnership will support families on their path to permanent housing

Sherman, T.X. November 13, 2025- Clayton®, a leading national builder of attainable single-family homes, has donated a new home to Family Promise of Grayson County as part of its ongoing partnership with Family Promise Inc., a national nonprofit dedicated to preventing and addressing family homelessness nationwide. The donated home will serve as transitional housing, offering stability for families working to secure permanent housing. This home will be the second in the affiliate’s transitional housing program donated by Clayton.

Key Takeaways

“Receiving a second home through this program is a milestone for our organization and the families we serve,” said Leigh Walker, Executive Director of Family Promise of Grayson County. “This home expands our capacity to support families on their journey to stable housing. With Clayton’s continued partnership, we’re deepening our impact and offering more families the stability, dignity, and hope they deserve.”
Clayton and Family Promise launched their partnership in 2019 through the program A Future Begins at Home, which focuses on preventing families from experiencing homelessness. Clayton contributes to this mission through annual home donations and grants to Family Promise Affiliates across the country. Since its inception, the program has supported more than 39,000 families, including over 62,000 children. This marks the 19th home donated to Family Promise through the partnership and the second transitional home donated to Family Promise of Grayson County. The first home, donated in December 2021, has since provided stability for nine families, including 11 adults and 21 children.
This home, Clayton’s Solsbury Hill floor plan, features 1,140 sq. ft. with three bedrooms and two bathrooms. It includes all-drywall interiors, craftsman-style details, energy-efficient features, open living spaces and is fully furnished to meet a variety of family needs.
The home was built at the Clayton Athens home building facility in Texas and completed by Freedom Homes® of Sherman.
“We are proud to partner with Family Promise on this project,” said Pete Sepulveda, General Manager at Freedom Homes of Sherman. “I’ve worked in Sherman, Texas, for five years and have been with Clayton for over three decades. It is especially meaningful to know that this home will offer lasting stability and support for local families who need it most.”
