Clayton Home Building Facilities Work Together for Children in Need

September 26, 2016

Two Clayton home building group facilities, Clayton Bean Station and Clayton Rutledge, made a donation of $25,000 to Kingswood Home for Children located in Grainger County, Tenn. Team Members from the building facilities and Kingswood gathered around for the presenting of the check on August, 25 2016.

Kingswood Home for Children, formally known as Kingswood School, is a non-profit, organization that provides a home for needy, troubled or neglected children ages 5-18 years. Currently, Kingswood houses 32 children. The home has provided a safe place for personal and spiritual growth for over 6,000 children since 1943.

This is not the first donation to Kingswood. General Managers, Marty Mansfield (Rutledge) and Charlie Hemphill (Bean Station), regularly donate time, food, labor and supplies to help the children and support renovations of the houses they live in. “We know how important it is to give back to our community, especially to an organization that has touched the lives of people we work with. We are excited to see the growth of Kingswood and witness the positive impact it has on children’s lives,” agreed Mansfield and Hemphill.

The funds donated to the school will go towards renovations of the Tomlinson Home that has been vacant for almost 10 years. The home will allow new Director, Gene Whaley, and his family to live on the Kingswood property and provide a safe house for fellowship, programs and shelter for mission families when they are visiting. The Clayton building facilities look forward to seeing the new renovations and the impact it will have on the youth in their community.
